ZenovaApps · Migraine Diary
Privacy policy
This policy covers the Android application com.zenovaapps.migraine, published by ZenovaApps.
The short version
Migraine Diary has no account, no sign-in and no ZenovaApps server. Every attack, symptom, trigger, medication and daily check-in you record is written to a private database inside the app's own storage on your phone and is never sent to us.
Three things can leave the device, each described below: an approximate location sent to a weather service — only if you turn the weather feature on; ordinary advertising signals when you use the free version; and purchase state when you buy Pro. Your health log is never part of any of them.
What the app stores on your device
All of it lives in an app-private local database that other apps cannot read. It is not uploaded to ZenovaApps and we have no way to see it.
Two consequences are worth understanding. If you uninstall the app without a backup, this data is gone and we cannot restore it for you. And if Android Auto Backup is enabled on your device, your log may be included in your own Google account backup, which is governed by Google’s privacy policy rather than ours.
- Attacks: start and end times, pain intensity, symptoms and suspected triggers.
- Daily check-ins, medications and doses, and menstrual-cycle start dates if you choose to track them.
- Weather snapshots (pressure, temperature) attached to attacks when the weather feature is on.
- Your settings: theme, reminders, ad-personalisation choice and purchase state.
Weather and location
The weather feature is off by default. If you turn it on, the app asks for approximate (coarse) location permission and sends your approximate latitude and longitude to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a weather data service, to fetch the barometric pressure and temperature around the time of your attacks. No name, identifier or health information is sent with these requests.
Coordinates are stored only on your device, attached to the attack they belong to. Turning the feature off stops all weather requests. If you never enable it, the app never asks for or uses location at all.
Export
When you export a summary as a PDF, the file is written to the app’s temporary storage and handed to whichever app you choose in the share sheet — for example to send to your doctor. Nothing is uploaded by Migraine Diary.
Advertising
The free version shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects information such as the device advertising identifier, an approximate location derived from the IP address, the device model and the operating system version.
Ads are non-personalised by default. Personalised ads are used only if you switch them on in Settings, and you can switch back at any time.
- Ads never appear on attack-logging screens.
- There are no full-screen interstitial ads anywhere in the app.
- Rewarded video plays only when you choose to start it.
- Buying Pro removes all ads, and after that no ad requests are made at all.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the one-time lifetime purchase are processed by Google Play Billing. Migraine Diary never sees your card details, name or address. We receive only whether an entitlement is active.
Health data, plainly
What you record about your migraines is sensitive. That is exactly why the app is built the way it is: your log is stored only on your device, is never transmitted to ZenovaApps or to any analytics service, and is never used for advertising. The app also makes no medical claims — it is a diary, not a diagnostic tool.
Children
Migraine Diary is intended for adults managing their own health records. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Permissions the app asks for
Migraine Diary does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or precise location.
- Notifications — your reminders and the ongoing-attack shortcut. Nothing else.
- Vibration — confirming an entry without sound.
- Internet and network state — loading ads and, if enabled, weather lookups. The diary itself works fully offline.
- Approximate location — weather lookups only, and only if you enable the weather feature.
- Run at startup — re-scheduling your reminders after a reboot.
- Advertising ID — ad serving. Removed entirely once you buy Pro.
Deleting your data
You can delete any entry inside the app, and uninstalling the app removes the entire local database. Because we never had a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
